Speaking Schedule and Updates
I've been asked by several people to let people know a little bit about my speaking schedule. This weekend I'm home (that'll be two weekends in a row!). After that, though, my calendar gets pretty busy. The weekend of the 21-22 I'll be in Hanover, PA, doing a parenting seminar and speaking on Sunday morning.
April 29 and May 6 -- I'll be doing a two-part series for a church near my home. I'll be examining what the Bible says about bio-ethical issues like abortion, stem-cell research, cloning and euthanasia.
The week between those two Sundays I'll be at the Pepperdine Lectures. Jill and I will be teaching two classes there based on the material in Hearts and Minds: Raising Your Child with a Christian View of the World.
Mother's Day -- I actually don't have anything scheduled. If you're interested in having me come to your church on Mother's Day weekend, leave me a comment.
May 17-18 I'll be speaking at an event called Married Life Live in northern California. We're going to talk about ways you can divorce-proof your marriage.
Memorial Day Weekend I'll be leading a retreat for singles at Panama City Beach, FL.
The first two weekends in June I'll be in Cleveland, OH. Hopefully, it won't still be snowing up there! I'll be speaking for a church the first weekend -- participating in a series they're doing on family relationships. The second weekend I'll be leading two seminars -- one on parenting and one on relationships in general.
June 16-17 I'll be in Lafayette, LA. I'll do a parenting seminar and speak on Sunday morning specifically to fathers about the important role they play in shaping the next generation.
June 24 I'm back at the church near my home speaking again on I can't remember what. I think I'll be participating in a series they'll be doing on the fruit of the Spirit that Paul talks about in Galatians 5. If memory serves...they're going to call the series Transformers.
Busy. Busy. Busy. I wish I didn't have to travel this much, but that's how I make a living for now. In addition to our consulting services, Faith 2.0 is getting ready to offer coaching to church leaders. I'm in negotiations on two possible book deals. I've had a few churches ask me to consider joining their staff (it happens around this time every year).
Busy. Busy. Busy.
Decisions. Decisions. Decisions.
I sure could use your support these days. I mean two things by that. First, if you have been blessed by this ministry, it would be incredibly helpful if you'd consider making a donation to Faith 2.0. You can give online by going here.
Second, please pray for this ministry and for me specifically. I have a growing family, and I am trying to be the best husband and father I can be. I am also trying to know God better than I ever have before and maximize my impact for his kingdom's sake. All of that requires waaaayyyy more wisdom and discernment than I have. Pray for me to be able to distinguish opportunities from distractions. Pray for my ability to think clearly and make good decisions. Pray for protection for my wife and daughters (and me). Pray for health (emotional, spiritual and physical). Pray for provision (that pesky mortgage comes due whether I've got speaking engagements lined up or not). Just pray, please.
Thank you all for your encouragement and the lively conversations we've had here in recent days. I appreciate your willingness to engage in spirited but civil talk. I have more than 1,000 people visit here nearly every day. I am amazed at that and humbled by it.
I'll try to be better at keeping everyone informed about my calendar as we move forward.
